The OHCA Pioneer Award is designed to recognize Ohioans influential in the development and advancement of long-term care programs, education, professionalism or ideals. The Awards honor the commitment of these individuals to excellence in long-term care services.

W.L "BILL" DUNN
Bill Dunn began his long-term care career 35 years ago when Marion Manor was opened as the first skilled facility in Marion County, Ohio.
Mr. Dunn has served as Trustee, Treasurer, and Vice-President of OHCA, and served as the organization’s President from 1973-1974. Mr. Dunn helped establish the Association’s Buckeye Award program, which recognized facilities for excellence in long-term care services. He also served as a reviewer and Captain on Peer Review teams.
Nationally, Mr. Dunn has represented Ohio as Regional Vice-President to the American Health Care Association, and has served 25 years on the AHCA Political Action Committee.
Mr. Dunn has always believed in supporting his community, and he is provided an opportunity to represent long-term care on a personal basis. Locally, Mr. Dunn is a member of Rotary International as well as active in the Chamber of Commerce, the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army. He is an active member of his church and various Masonic bodies.
As is common in many long-term care organization, many members of Mr. Dunn’s family are active in providing long term care services, and he is proud of the tradition and care that the Dunn family delivers to residents, families and community.
