The OHCA Pioneer Award is designed to recognize Ohioans influential in the development and advancement of long-term care programs, education, professionalism or ideals. The Awards honor the commitment of these individuals to excellence in long-term care services.

MYRNA LEE
After more than 30 years of service to the Ohio Health Care Association and the long-term care community, Myrna Lee retired from her work at the Association in December of 2002.
Myrna joined OHCA in the 1960s as a secretary, and over the years took on the roles of Executive Assistant, Director of Payment & Finance, and finally as Vice President of Operations. She served as a lobbyist for OHCA, and her work in the legislative, regulatory and reimbursement arenas was crucial to the Association’s success over the years. She also contributed valuable work behind the scenes managing OHCA’s budget, human resources and other internal operations.
When the Association experienced a financial crisis in the early ‘70s, Myrna was one of only two employees who operated the office while the organization revived. OHCA has since rebounded to become the vibrant, successful organization it is today, in large part due to the support and dedication of Myrna Lee.
Myrna now lives in Mesa, Arizona, where she enjoys her well-deserved retirement in the sun and sand.
