CAROL ROLF
Carol Rolf was born in Munich, Germany while her parents were overseas on a military assignment. After returning to the States, her family settled in Ohio where she graduated from high school in Cincinnati, and college and law school in Cleveland.
From her mother, who was a nurse, Carol learned a great respect for those who care for others, and she wanted to use her legal skills in service of those who answer that calling.
She started a law firm that has grown from just two people to one of the largest firms in the country focused on supporting post-acute, long-term care and senior living providers. Her law firm, Rolf Goffman Martin Lang LLP, has proudly represented the Ohio Health Care Association and many of its members for over 30 years.
Throughout her long and distinguished legal career, Carol has been recognized many times for her legal skills, including being selected as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Ohio, as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Ohio, and one of the Best Health Care Lawyers in America.
But, Carol has always considered her number one identity, not as an attorney, but as a member of the long-term care profession.
Over the years, Carol has zealously advocated for the long term care profession on the state as well as the national level, testifying before the legislature, preparing comments on proposed rules and regulations and serving on various government committees involving nursing, assisted living and ICF/IID facilities.
She has also served on the Board of Nursing Homes Administrators (predecessor to BELTTS) and has taught the legal portion of the Core of Knowledge for nursing home administrators for over 25 years.
Carol serves on OHCA’s Facility Standards Committee and on the AHCA Legal Committee, including its Executive Committee.
What Carol is best known for, though, are all of the seminars she has given both at OHCA and AHCA conventions on the latest regulatory and reimbursement developments; her credibility with state and federal regulators; and her ability to identify and empathize with both providers and residents.
Together with OHCA and AHCA, Carol has been a consistent advocate for quality care and compliance, and has assisted many providers in their quest to improve their care and practices.
